The Turgen Falls, including the beautiful Baga Turgen Waterfall, are set within the stunning Altai Mountain Range, close to the scenic Khoton and Khurgan Lakes in western Mongolia. From the western shore, local families can arrange horseback transport or guided walks to the waterfalls. Vehicle access is limited within the park, so from the designated parking area, visitors typically enjoy a round-trip hike of around two hours through alpine meadows and forested trails.

Because the area sits at a high altitude, weather conditions can be unpredictable, and snow is possible even in warmer months. The best time to visit is during the summer season from June to August, when access is easiest and the waterfalls are at their most powerful due to glacial melt. Spring and autumn visits may be possible depending on conditions, while winter travel is generally not recommended due to heavy snow and limited access.
